Development Academy – Highest Level Program (Boys)

The Chicago Fire Juniors are part of the Chicago Fire (MLS) Player Development Program and are an integral piece of the Player Development Pyramid. The Development Academy Program is the highest program for boys operated by Chicago Fire Juniors and is exclusive to the Chicago Fire Juniors located in Naperville and Wheaton.

Who is this program for?

• Players looking for the highest level of competition both in practice and games.
• Players aspiring to play in the Academy – moving on into college, super 20’s, PDL
• Players looking to be exposed and showcased to top college coaches around the country.
• Players that have the ability to compete at the highest youth soccer level.
• The Development Academy program is for players who are looking to experience an intense, structured, and organized training and game environment

How do we do it?

• Direct links to Academy staff through evaluation, competition with Academy players and Academy leadership.
• Incorporating all aspects of being a high level player by including strength and conditioning, nutrition, game analysis, player evaluation, and mental preparation; with innovative technical and tactical aspects of development.
• Exposure to the best competition nationally (inc. but not limited to Dallas Cup, Disney Showcase, Final Four Showcase, MRL and USYS National Championship Series).
• Chicago Fire Youth Development will assign their top staff to develop, train, and manage Development Academy players.

Chicago Fire Youth Development has unparalleled resources available to achieve their program goals and objectives:

• Academy and First team training facilities
• National team staff
• Support and direction from Fire Technical and First team staff
• Strong relationships with college coaches, clubs, and other MLS programs

Program consists of:

• 3 or 4 sessions per week (outdoor)
• 2 or 3 sessions per week (indoor)
• Speed and Conditioning Program
• Developmental games each week (indoor and/or outdoor)
• High level competitive games, tournaments and showcases
• College Recruitment plan, assistance and advice
